
Led by Wolves legend Kyle Reynolds, (second from the right) the Men’s 4 x 400 m team crushed a number of “B” teams on its way to a 7th place finish at the 2018 MacEwan Invitational.
The GPRC Wolves Indoor Track team opened its 2018 season in Edmonton on Saturday, posting two second-place finishes at the MacEwan University Invitational.
In her debut attempt at the 1000m, rookie Anna Van Der Giessen recorded a time of 3:22 to finish second behind MacEwan’s Hannah Leggat . Van Der Giessen also had a 7th finish in the 600m.
Brandon Wladyko, went out to an early lead in the men’s 3000m, but faded slightly in the last 500m, finishing in the runner-up position. He clocked a time of 9:35.
Other Wolves runners placing top 8 among ACAC runners included Kailey Bratland (1000m- 5th, 1500m – 4th), Kelcie Bulas (3000m – 4th), Eric Nooy (1500m – 7th), Jarred St Arnault (8th – 600m). The women’s 4 x 400 relay teams finished 5th, while the men’s relay, featuring a stellar leg run by Wolves legend Kyle Reynolds Ba-beee, was 7th.
Collectively, the Wolves women placed 5th overall in the meet; the men were 7th.
Next up for the Wolves runners is ACAC #2 – the SAIT Open in Calgary next weekend.
