Coach Chris Nelissen

I have been involved in the sport of Athletics for 6 years. Starting out as a sprinter, I have competed in most events on the track from the 100m – 1500m and tested my ability off the track in Cross-Country and Trail races ranging from 3km to 20km. I have now found my niche in middle distance running. I have raced in Junior Nationals for Track and Cross-Country and represented GPRC Wolves XC at CCAA Nationals. Training under former GPRC Wolves Running Head Coach Bill Corcoran representing the Peace Country Wolves Athletics Club.

As well as continuing to pursue my own training and my goals, I started my coaching journey in 2018 as a Zone 8 Alberta Summer Games Assistant Coach for Athletics. I have coached school teams, such as Peace Wapiti Academy, our local track club Peace Country Wolves Athletics Club and worked with Fabio as an assistant coach for Indoor Track in the winter of 2020. Currently, I have received trained status from Athletics Canada in the Sprints and Hurdles events and in Throws events at the Club coach level. I look forward to continuing my technical training and building athletes’ love of the sport.
