Huge 1500m wins for Wolves at ACAC #1

Wolves Tracksters opened thier ACAC Indoor Season with impact on Saturday with two huge wins in the 1500m at the New Balance Trojan Invitational in Calgary.

Jamie Wigmore surged ahead in the final 300m of the womens 1500m to record a 7 second victory.  Wigmore’s time of 4:53 was a new personal bests.

Hayden Hollowell dominated early in his 1500m race, recording a time of 4:18, 9 seconds ahead of second place.

In the womens 3000m, Amanda Patteson had a strong run, placing third in a time of 11:58.

Other Wolves athletes recording top 8 performances included Dylan Zambonelli (6th in the 800m), Emily Whalen (8th in the 800m), the womens 4 x 400m team (4th) and the mens 4 x 400m team (6th).

In the team standings, the Wolves women placed 3rd behind MacEwan University and Lethbridge College respectively.  The Wolves men placed sixth.

The Wolves Indoor Track team next sees action on Feb 15 in Edmonton at the Running Room Indoor Invitational.
