A small contingent of GPRC Wolves athletes opened the 2012 indoor track seasaon at the 1st Running Room Indoor Challenge Track meet on Saturday in Edmonton.
Second year student Eric Martinek posted a 9 second personal best in the 1500m, clocking a time of 4:32.90, good for 5th in the field of 22 runners. Wolves coach Bill Corcoran placed 19th (5:00.99).
The top womens finish for the locals was a seventh place finish for the 4 x 400m team consisting Jackie Benning, Kayla Hardy, Chassity Mohan, and Calla Scott. In the individual events, Mohan placed 7th in the 1500m, and Hardy was 8th in the 3000m. Benning and Scott competed in the 800m placing 14th and 18th respectively.
